My Fears
"Gnothi se auton" ("Know Thyself")

So, here's what happened:
For my birthday, I decided that my life had become too normal. I promised that I would take every opportunity available to get out of my shell and do thing that weren't everyday for me. Since then I've realized it's actually quit hard to step from one's beloved bubble. If oneself isn't the obstacle, it is the people around you. Anyway, my list of scary to dos:
Polar Bear Plunge: dunk into an ice cold lake. All for a good cause though. Coming February 18th.
Give Blood: I'm terrified of needles. This will have to happen though. I just have to get myself to a donation point. And sit. And not panic...
Run a half marathon: This is a goal of mine because my aunt and uncle have both run marathons and the closest I even think I could come to them is a half. But we'll see where it takes me.
Go to Mexico: I'm studing Spanish. I don't speak it very well but I would love to. Talking to people, like actually walking up to native Spanish Speakers scares the pee out of me. Why? No idea. I'm not scared of them per se but, rather, what they'll think of the stupid gringa trying hard to be like them.
So there you have it. And this blog will be my record of doing/ not doing my fear. It will also probably end up the board for the rest of my life because I'm a disorganized college student and that's how things go!
